PMAST Memorandum of Understanding
One of CMCS's many achievements over the last few months relative to creating membership value is in completing its negotiation of a Memorandum of Understanding with PMAST. This achievement could not have been brought to fruition without the hard work and dedication of our CMCS Board of Directors, Gini Clark and Matt Youens.
We remain optimistic that this new collaborative framework will bring more opportunities to our membership to facilitate training and mediations.

New Faces of CMCS
We are pleased to announce that Tyson Bankert has taken on our new Communications and Community Engagement Coordinator position. Tyson comes to us with years of experience and connections in the non-profit space. His main accountabilities are to align our social media strategy with our ongoing marketing efforts, and building strong community partnerships.
We are also happy to announce that Zina Ibrahim has taken on the role of Membership Coordinator. Zina is a dynamic individual who brings passion and experience to CMCS. Zina is looking forward to connecting with members and working with the board to increase engagement with CMCS members.
Welcome Tyson and Zina!
Thank you to CMCS casino volunteers
On June 24 and 25, Community Mediation Calgary Society had their two-day casino. This is the largest fundraiser that CMCS has. We get a casino about every one and one half years. It is always a challenge to get enough volunteers, so we want to thank everyone who did volunteer. The following is the list of volunteers who helped at this year’s casino:
Sandra Anderson Liz Borger Kris Brooks
Brenda Brown Brenda Christie Gini Clark
Raliegh Dehaney Thomas Fielding Kathy Hutchings
Florence Lye Barb McNamara Kim Nordmark
Joyce Pergoodoff Jaqueline Reeves Jackie Shawcross
Stuart Simpson Jan Shannon-Simpson Barb McNamara
Nell Smith Tom Smith Brianna Sonmor
Grant Valley Sara van Halderen Neville Wells
Shelley Wheaton Jim Willson Matt Youens
In mid-August, we received the net proceeds for this casino - $70,219.87. This is around $5,000 more that we had expected. Thanks again to our many volunteers!
Name-Tags
If you did not receive a new name-tag in the mail please contact Kathleen Ladner, CMCS Coordinator, at info@communitymediation.ca or 403.269.2707 and she will email you a new name-tag. We ask that you replace your old name-tags with the new ones as we have removed mediator’s last names from our name-tags.
A friendly reminder: Please wear your CMCS name-tag or lanyard whenever you’re representing our organization. This not only identifies you, but it also promotes our services to the public. If you do not get your name-tag or do not have a lanyard, we will have extras at the AGM.

Conflict Resolution Day
CRD Day is fast approaching and will be held on October 17, 2019. We encourage our members to take the training for this year's course, created by a group of ADR stakeholders, as we will have opportunities to lead workshops in partnership with the Calgary Public Library throughout September and October. Information about training can be found here.
If you are interested in teaching a CRD course, please send Gini Clark an email at president@communitymediation.ca
